P143: Effect of clickers on instructors' teaching and students' learning

Katie Amaral (Pennsylvania State University – Berks, USA)

Student response systems are becoming more prevalent in chemistry classrooms.  At a branch campus of Penn State, student response systems have been implemented in general and organic chemistry, as well as several upper level classes.  Instructors perceptions of how the response systems affect both their teaching and their students’ learning will be discussed. The effect of the student response systems on student outcomes will also briefly be examined.
