Many universities have a seminar course for undergraduates where students present literature surveys on topics of current interest rather than on laboratory results. Whether these students are bound for industry, graduate school, or high school teaching, this provides an opportunity for mentoring and practice in literature searching, abstract writing, and presentation skills including fielding audience questions in a user friendly environment. It can also provide an opportunity for prospective high school teachers to practice presenting demonstrations and guiding hands-on activities.
