P500: Development and results of a concept inventory to measure student understanding of intermolecular forces - WITHDRAWN

A concept inventory has been developed which measures student understanding about intermolecular forces. Developed from student interviews in which students set up and discussed experiments involving paper chromatography, the inventory has been tested with students in high school and in general chemistry at the undergraduate level. After a brief summary of the methods used to create the study, measures of reliability and validity will be discussed, combining elements of classical test theory and item response theory. Specific test items will be discussed to show different iterations of the inventory, along with updates to the most current version of the inventory.
