Lodging

If you still need to secure lodging, feel free to download our guide to on and off campus options. Lodging information is also available here.

Transportation

If you are still in need of transportation options to State College, please click here.

State College is extremely walkable, but there is also a free bus service operated by CATA. During the summer months, the red and blue lines are in operation. The LOOP and LINK service provides fare-free campus/downtown circulator and cross-campus shuttle service. The Blue Loop provides the circulator service around the Penn State Campus and Downtown State College, running clockwise via College Avenue. The Red Link runs back and forth across campus between Innovation Park and West Campus (White Course Apartments) via Curtin Road and Park Avenue.

Service area and schedule: The service area is limited to campus and the immediate downtown area. Over the summer, LOOP and LINK operate on a Reduced Service schedule. Routes and schedules can be obtained from the CATA website (mobile apps are available):

Parking

For attendees staying in the dorms, parking permits were purchased, in advance, via the dorm reservation form and are included in your registration materials when you check-in at the conference registration desk.

Parking Office staff will be available to sell parking passes at BCCE Check-in on Sunday, July 29, from 11am -5pm. Parking passes are $21 for the conference. Parking at the HUB and Eisenhower parking decks is not monitored on Sunday, so you can park in either of these lots in order to check-in and purchase a parking permit if you need one. Beginning Monday at 7:30 a.m., July 30, you can purchase your parking permit at the Penn State Parking Office adjacent to the Eisenhower parking deck.

To obtain a visitor permit to park at Penn State, visit the Central Pennsylvania Convention and Visitors Bureau located at the corner of Park Avenue and Porter Road (M-F 8:00am-6:00pm, Saturday & Sunday: 9:00am-6:00pm; Phone: 814-231-1400 or 800-358-5466, E-mail: info@visitpennstate.org, web: www.visitpennstate.org), or the Parking Office in the Eisenhower Parking Deck (M-F 7:30am- 5:00pm; Phone: 814-865-1436, E-mail: parking@psu.edu, web: http://www.transportation.psu.edu/parking/visitor/) to purchase a permit. Currently, the fee is $4.00 per day; daytime parking is in the commuter lots: Lot 44 (near the Bryce Jordan Center) and Stadium West (next to Beaver Stadium). There is no parking in the commuter lots from 2:00am-4:00am.

Visitors may park in the HUB Deck (off Shortlidge Road), the East Deck (off Bigler Road), and the Nittany Deck (beside the Nittany Lion Inn) for $1.00 per hour. When entering the deck, you must take a stub from the machine at the Kiosk Information Booth at the entrance. You must give this stub to the attendant when exiting the deck. Parking decks only accept cash for payment. You must have a permit to park in the decks between 2:00am-4:00am.
